Shukurov Azad Hatam oglu was born on February 11, 1959 in the village of Muganli, Aghdam region. From 1977 to 1981, he studied at the Faculty of Drama and Film Acting of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts. He learned the secrets of acting from People’s Artists Rza Tahmasib and Melik Dadashov. During his student years, he performed at the Educational Theater of the university. He was assigned to the Lankaran State Drama Theater, and from 1984 to 1993, he worked at the Educational Theater. Since February 1993, he has been one of the leading actors of the Baku Municipal Theater. Since 1990, he has been a teacher of the Department of Stage Speech at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, and since 2001, he has been the head of the department. Since 2022, he has been the head of the Department of Musical Theater Actor, since 2006, he has been an associate professor, and since 2022, a professor. On November 7, 2002, he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
