Head of the Library and Information Centre

Tamilla Asgarova graduated from the Faculty of Library Science at Baku State University in 1996. From 1989 to 1992, she worked at the Republican Scientific and Technical Library; from 1992 to 2005, at the Republican Scientific and Pedagogical Library; from 2005 to 2015, at the Central Scientific Library of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences; and from 2015 to 2016, at the National Library of Azerbaijan. Since 2016, she has served as Head of the Library and Information Centre at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (ADMİU).

 

In 2009–2010, while working at the Central Scientific Library of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, she was assigned to lead the establishment of the Library of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2014, she also led the establishment of the electronic library of the European Azerbaijan School.

 

From 2016 to 2018, T. Asgarova was engaged in academic and teaching activities, teaching and developing curricula for the courses “Electronic Libraries,” “International Library Classifications and Formats,” and “Description and Classification of Normative, Technical and Special Types of Publications.”

 

  1. Asgarova is the compiler of 34 bibliographic publications and has published articles in a number of leading academic journals in Azerbaijan. In 2013, she was a member of the working group involved in compiling the two-volume scholarly and bibliographic index for the 46-volume publication Heydar Aliyev. Our Independence Is Eternal. Since 2013, she has been a member of the New Azerbaijan Party.
