The Academic Affairs Department is the University's principal administrative unit responsible for the organization, coordination, management, and quality oversight of the educational process.

In accordance with the Rector’s Order No. 1/401 dated 14 September 2022, the Department comprises the following divisions:

  • Lifelong Learning, Career and Alumni Relations Division;
  • Academic Organization Division;
  • Student Affairs Division.

The Department’s central office consists of the Head of Department and a Senior Specialist.

Lifelong Learning, Career and Alumni Relations Division

Established as part of the University’s structural reorganization in 2022, the Lifelong Learning, Career and Alumni Relations Division coordinates continuing education initiatives and supports students and graduates throughout their academic and professional development.

The Division is responsible for:

  • organizing lifelong learning programmes and coordinating the required documentation;
  • preparing regulatory and academic documentation for the University’s MBA programme;
  • engaging highly qualified academic and industry professionals in the teaching process;
  • supervising internships and practical training for undergraduate and graduate students, including professional, pedagogical, creative, research, and pre-graduation placements;
  • maintaining the electronic database of students and alumni;
  • receiving, registering, and issuing diplomas obtained from the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Division also organizes fee-based professional development courses aligned with the University’s academic profile.

The Division consists of a Head, a Lead Specialist, a Specialist, and a Methodologist.

Head of Division: Associate Professor, Honoured Teacher Gulnara Mammadova.

Academic Organization Division

The Academic Organization Division ensures the effective planning and administration of the University’s teaching process.

Its main responsibilities include:

  • monitoring the distribution of teaching workload among academic staff in accordance with established regulations;
  • reviewing examination records and preparing reports on examination sessions across faculties;
  • supervising the implementation of class schedules through the academic dispatch service;
  • preparing and submitting annual statistical reports to the relevant authorities.

The Division consists of a Head, three Lead Specialists, and a Substitute Specialist.

Head of Division: Latafat Abbasova.

Student Affairs Division

The Student Affairs Division provides administrative support for students throughout their studies and ensures the proper maintenance of academic records.

Its responsibilities include:

  • preparing official orders related to the organization of teaching and all types of examinations;
  • reviewing scholarship documentation submitted by faculties and preparing the relevant administrative orders;
  • maintaining student records for undergraduate and graduate programmes;
  • processing academic leave, student transfers, and dismissals through the Student–Graduate State Electronic Information System (TMDEMS).

The Division consists of a Head, a Senior Specialist, and two Lead Specialists.
