The Department of Design and Decorative Applied Arts has been operating since 1976.
The department combines two main specializations: Decorative Arts and Design. Its academic staff carries out teaching, methodological, and research activities in accordance with these fields.
At the undergraduate level, the Design specialization includes Interior Design, Graphic Design, and Fashion Design, while the Decorative Arts specialization covers Artistic Carpet Art and Artistic Textile Art. At the graduate level, the Design specialization includes Interior Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Industrial Design, while Decorative Arts continues to focus on Artistic Carpet Art and Artistic Textile Art.
Since the establishment of the department, it has been headed by People’s Artist, Honoured Art Worker, recipient of the “Shohrat” Order, Professor Arif Azizov.
